After a big working week, what better than to head to the workshop and get on the tools. To help you achieve this, Wood Dust is now offering a regular Saturday Mornings Woodworking workshops where you can do exactly that. 

Participants in these workshops are free to pursue their own projects at their own pace supported by in-house woodworker John Madden. You will have access to a full array of equipment including benches, hand tools, machinery, sharpening and finishing gear. Join this workshop and stay motivated to create your woodworking dreams.

It's time to touch up the tools!

 

Coming up on Tuesday evening 6.30pm February 3 at the Wood Play Studio is a Sharpening mini-Masterclass featuring local legend and guitar maker Gary Rizzolo. During this two-hour event we will cover the hard fundamentals of this essential art including:

 

  • Sharpening edge tools such as chisels and plane blades 

  • Sharpening card scrapers

  • And using the Tormek to sharpen all sorts of things

Build Your Own Audio Speakers

Do you want to get into woodworking but want to make something more interesting than a chopping board or a foot stool? Then check out this Build Your Own High-Quality Audio Speakers woodworking course.

Over 4 x 3 hour weekend workshops you can build your very own audio speakers within a small relaxed group of 4 participants.

This course is suitable for beginner and intermediate makers interested in learning how to build a pair of high-quality speakers suitable for domestic or office use. ​Check out the details!

Introduction to Box Making
Starting March 4

During this course you will design and make a wooden lidded box. You can select from a range of materials including solid timber and wood veneers. You can join your box using either a mitre joint or box joint, both cut on the table saw. You can line your box with decorative paper or fabric. You can finish your box using hard wax oil or paint. All within a intimate group of only four participants.

 

If you have ever wanted to get into box making, this is your chance.
